should i or should i not?

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I still could not decide on whether to extend my contract here or not. I am enjoying my life here in Japan though, there are still some wanting-go-home-moments, but overall, I like it. I would love to stay here for good (?) … nah, probably not that long that will so not gonna happen. Anyway, few months extension is okay but I am still uncertain.

Let me list down my pros and cons in this. I will start first with my “pros”.. no, “cons” first… no, “pros” .. no, “cons”… such a fickle minded. anyways, “pros” first.

  1. I will have more time to prove myself. To prove to “them”, and more to myself, that I am worth this opportunity and I have done a wonderful job.
  2. I could gain more knowledge in the job-relating aspect and probably in the personal improvement aspect.
  3. I will have enough time to save for the rainy days. Rainy days pertaining to coming back to beloved Pinas. You might be asking why do I consider it as “rainy” days. Hhhmm.. I think you already know the answer.

That is all for the pros so far. And now, the cons…

  1. It will take time before I can transfer to other company. I love my job but then I have this feeling that the company where I am currently “in” does not “love” me. It is not only me who feels that way, I think almost everyone feels this.
  2. It will take time before I can do something different. I love my job, yes I do, but it feels like something is missing, something is not right. It is probably because I have been doing this from the very first day that I started. Several people have come and left the team and, you guessed it right, I’m still here standing on the same ground, unmoved.

3 pros versus 2 cons. The cons may be outnumbered by the pros but their weight is somewhat equal. That is where my confusion rooted from. And now, I only have a day left to decide.

Which face of the coin should I choose? Could you help me?
